My students need an iPad to be able to independently document their work on the app Seesaw, where they'll be able to share their work. The other materials are for developing their reading fluency and comprehension.

My Students
I am the third grade reading/language arts and social studies teacher at an inner-city school in Florida. I teach 40 young boys and girls who make me smile, laugh, and celebrate the joys of teaching every single day.
These are children who have SO MUCH to give the world, but do not always have everything that they need to succeed.
I want to be one of the people in their lives who provides for them. I want to ensure that they ALWAYS have what they need to do their very best at school.
My Project
I am requesting a few different types of resources to develop and enhance my students' reading fluency and comprehension. Timers will allow students to independently track and record their reading fluency (how accurately and quickly they read out loud). The BINGO reading games will allow my students to compete with each other to develop their reading comprehension skills.
But the iPad will enhance my classroom and students' learning in truly amazing ways.
Using the iPad, my students will be able to independently record and share the work that they complete in their independent centers. For instance, when building words with sight word puzzles and letter tiles, they can snap a picture using the app Seesaw. I will then be able to review their work, make any corrections necessary, as well as share the work with their parents. Students will also be able to use the iPad as a listening center to develop their comprehension.
My students need these types of resources in order to take control of their own learning and become responsible learners who are accountable for their work. In addition to all of these benefits, I will be able to enhance the home-school connection I am establishing in my classroom, which is proven to affect learning outcomes in positive ways.
