My students need phonics word family flip books, phonics listening station, the mystery box, write and wipe sight word practice cards, and a touch and math guessing game.
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Do you remember how exciting stations were when you were little? It was the part of the day that I always looked forward to the most! Well, not much has changed, because students still love station time!
I teach 20 eager to learn, sweet, little first graders in a rural, low income town in Texas.
I want my students to be able to practice math and reading skills they are learning in class in a fun, hands-on way during center time. I want them to be able to grow and blossom in both subjects and I believe that these activities are one way that they will be able to do so!
My Project
I am asking donors to give a variety of phonics activities such as CVC practice games, word family flip books, a phonics listening station, a mystery box and other games to help my students become better readers. These kits will include practice with beginning, middle, and ending sounds, blends, digraphs, and phonemic awareness. They are also fun for the kids, so they are engaged in learning, having fun, and building a foundation for reading all in one. The math activities will help to review and spiral skills during stations and keep the skills fresh in student's minds!
This donation to our classroom would make such a huge impact on my sweet students.
They would grow tremendously as readers with these literacy activities. The best part of it all is that not only will they learn and grow in so many ways, but they will also have a great time doing it! Your donation would be greatly appreciated!
