Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hard workers at an urban, inner city school. All of my students get free breakfast and lunch. More than half of my students come from families where English is not the first language, and in many cases, school is their only exposure to English and/or learning math and reading skills.
My students come to school each day excited to learn and see what the day has in store for them.
I am always looking for ways to keep my students excited about their learning and ways to give them as many possibilities in their educational experiences.
My Project
I am asking for reading games that keep my students engaged and excited to learn. We need "Can Do!" reading games and other board games that cover skills such as analyzing characters, identifying root words, using context clues, blending and more—building basic reading skills!
Games help students learn, but they are so busy having fun that they forget they are learning!
These awesome games can be used during morning work, reading stations, and even indoor recess.
When kids learn through games it also helps build cooperation skills, team work, communication skills, and other social skills. They'll be having so much fun they will forget that they are learning!
