Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
All of the supplies requested will be used to build literacy in my 1st grade classroom. The headphones are to ensure each child’s focus during stations that utilize technology to practice and assess literacy skills. The EXPO markers are for the students to write on the whiteboard in a word work center where they will play games independently and in groups to build literacy skills. The LCD writing tablets are a tool for small group phonics and phonemic awareness instruction that will support quick checks and competitive type activities also building literacy skills.
Each item will not only facilitate the learning process but also make it more fun for my 1st grade class, ranging from students who are just learning to read to students reading on a 2nd grade level.
The literacy centers have activities designed to challenge students of diverse stages including English Language Learners. These supplies will benefit 65 students because I teach Reading to all 1st graders at Littlefield Primary.
