My students need the Match & Sort Language Quickies and each Can Do! game/ center to develop skills and provide focused practice with phonics, grammar & language usage concepts, and reading comprehension.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
The best way to describe our school is a rainbow of cultures. Our school is extremely diverse in its representation of races, economic status, and achievement levels. We are located in an urban district and our school makeup mirrors that of the district as a whole. In addition, our school is an International Baccalaureate magnet school. As part of the IB Primary Years Program, we seek to empower our students with what they need to know to become caring and productive global citizens, as well as, independent, critical thinkers.
My Project
The Match & Sort Language Quickies and each Can Do! game/ center will provide me with the means to further differentiate instruction during Literacy R & E (Remediation and Enrichment time).
These materials will allow me to react responsively to each individual learners needs by matching the activity to the developmental level and skills of a particular student or group.
If my project is funded, it will help me to cater to my students' strengths, as well as, address some weaknesses; so that, I can maximize student growth and individual success.
Thus, the Match & Sort Language Quickies and each Can Do! game/ center are easy to implement activities that will provide my class with an abundance of fun and engaging skill building practice.
