My Students
H.C. Middle School students are driven to graduate as leaders equipped with a set of skills and a body of knowledge that can be applied and utilized in high school, college and beyond. Students at our Title I school are inspired to realize their parents' dreams of a quality public education and a future full of opportunity.
Special education students at our school struggle when reading long, multisyllabic words and comprehending content-area text which prevents them from unlocking doors that access the general education curriculum.
My Project
Carefully selected Literacy Intervention Units will assist struggling readers, English-language learners and students with disabilities to experience success in content-area classes, especially where advanced reading skills are needed to understand concepts and context.
All material will be geared to develop fluency, comprehension and vocabulary- short term work will yield long-term confidence and success both in school and at home!
