My Project
Most students in our school are struggling with their basic reading abilities. They love to draw and paint but sometimes struggle understanding directions because of their lack of skills in reading. I want to give them extra time to practice reading and realize that they can find art in the stories around them.
Reading opens up the doors to creativity, allowing students to express themselves. Students will be reading a story to introduce the lesson topic for the day. Then they will be creating art works based off the beautiful pictures in the books or the artist the story is based upon. This will help them see that art can be found all around them every day. They will also learn about artists who have shaped visual arts growth.
