it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
As a new first grade teacher, I am extremelt excited to see the love of reading come alive! The students in my classroom are extremely hard-working, caring, enthusiastic and eager to succeed in school. They work their hardest to be successful in the classroom, and I want to be able to provide them with the resources necessary to have reading become a major part of their learning. Being able to utilize these literacy materials in our classroom, will make learning more accessible to all of the different learning needs of my students.
I work in a public school setting, where the students come from culturally diverse backgrounds, and as well are members of a highly populated urban community.
The school is made up of many English Language Learners, and as well represent other different languages and cultures. The curriculum in schools now can be very demanding on children, and in order for them to learn in way that is easy for them, reading skills need to be highly incorporated into their everyday learning. In order to make these amazing students be successful, they need access to the best reading materials!
My Project
My students need these essential Literacy materials in order to help them to becoming strong and confident readers. My first graders will use these materials constantly during Literacy stations, in order to help them succeed. These games, puzzles, and word building materials are crucial for their development as readers, and to help them build their knowledge of words and sounds. These materials will help my incoming first graders to make connections between words, identify letters, and master hard words that may be a challenge for them. I am confident that these materials will help them be the best readers they can be, and prepare them for many wonderful reading years ahead!
