Literacy For Breakfast!

Help me give my students tools to enrich our foundational literacy work each morning.

My Project

These supplies will form the foundation of our daily literacy routine after breakfast, providing extra supplies for students to hone their penmanship, practice writing in an emotion journal, and start their day excited to learn. Students will use desk bins to house their emotions journals and daily penmanship whiteboard. Folders will be used to send home differentiated extensions, while headphones help support focus by allowing the students to listen back to their morning activities on Seesaw.

This will be my fifth year ensuring each day starts with our literacy routine, and these extra supplies are critical in ensuring each school day begins in an academic environment that promotes differentiation and equity.

Over the course of the school year we will build on these journal entries to prepare for written responses to standardized testing, while these daily practices to form the foundation of our class reward system. The fidgets will be used as a literacy-specific class store directly tied to achievements in the morning activity.
