Literacy Everywhere

My students need all of the books they can get their hands on including Keepsake Stories, Extreme Reader Bundles, and Horrid Henry Book Set. We are a Title I school with a high population of ESOL students. We also need daily Math practice journals and blank books.

My Students

My students are struggling with many outside forces that inhibit them from focusing on their schooling. If I can engage them in interesting books that grab their attention, I have a better chance of teaching them an actual love for reading.

We are a Title I school.

We have an integrated classroom. I have ESE, ESOL, and regular education students. Their interest levels are across the board. The majority of my students need to read a lot of different texts to build their vocabulary and background knowledge.

My Project

These books, including a Horrid Henry book set and daily practice Math journals will be utilized daily in my classroom. This will help my students become stronger readers. Their vocabulary, comprehension, fluency, and accuracy will improve. Most of my students will not even read a book once they walk out of my classroom door.

These books will help me instill a love for reading in each of my students.

They will give my students the opportunity to become strong readers. One of my students may be a child to be the first in his or her family to go to college.
