This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

For my project focusing on reading essentials to support literacy skills, I am establishing library book bins that will be stocked with a diverse and engaging selection of texts tailored to different reading levels and interests. The goal is to create an inviting space where students can easily access literature that resonates with them, encouraging a love for reading and supporting their literacy development.

By providing these book bins, Touch and Read Phonics, and Alphabet Light Table, I aim to foster a positive reading environment that promotes independent reading habits.

This initiative will directly impact my students by:

Enhancing Engagement- Access to a variety of books will allow students to choose texts that genuinely interest them, making reading a more enjoyable and fulfilling experience.

Developing Skills- The Touch and Read Phonics and Alphabet Light Table improve their decoding skills which is a key component of literacy.

Overall, this project is designed to create a supportive reading culture within the classroom, ultimately contributing to improved literacy outcomes for all students.
