Literacy Enrichment Needs Some Love

Help me give my students the resources they need to be successful readers and writers. Covid has impacted learning quite a bit and my new literacy enrichment classes will provide struggling students with extra support.

My Students

I have a love for 7th graders. They are so bright-eyed and eager to learn. I love their anticipation for entering the junior high level and the effort they put forward to be successful.

These students have gone through so much with COVID and are resilient!

They want to learn and be in school!

As a result of the pandemic, we have students who are more behind than ever. They need extra support because of the consequences COVID has forced on them. I have started two literacy enrichment courses this year and am excited to have this resource for our struggling students. These kids inspire me every day!

My Project

These resources will help give our struggling readers and writers extra support in our new literacy enrichment classes. COVID has set us back in literacy and these extra resources will help us bridge the learning gap. For example, the headphones will help greatly with hearing and following along to build confidence in reading and fluency. The task cards will give students daily practice in reading strategies. The supplies will help me, as their teacher, create folders to make lesson plans, collect data, and keep work in the room for daily practice. I want these kids who struggle with literacy to gain confidence and feel success in their reading and writing journey!
