This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

In my classroom, we are family. Through the good days and the bad, we build up and reinforce one another. We begin each day by checking in with one another and sharing our emotions and consolations when someone is experiencing difficulties. As a kindergarten teacher I see the impact on my young students who have had no school experience, and sometimes, no experience in social settings outside the home.

My students enjoy discovering and exploring!

They have high energy and need hands on activities for learning. It is a joy to teach students who are excited to learn.

My Project

I will use these literacy materials during our individual center time where students work independently. During our daily small group time , these materials will come in handy to reinforce skills that have been taught and students are struggling with. I also tutor after-school and these materials will help with students who need hands on learning to grasp letter and sound recognition. These materials will enhance the lesson that I have planned for that day. Being a Title I school, our students may not be exposed to these types of materials at home so providing them in the classroom brings excitement to learning.
