My students need a conference table... a place where we can gather as a small group... one of the most successful ways for children to learn!
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. S.'s classroom raised $399
This project is fully funded
My Students
There are 28 beautiful children in my Dual Language First Grade Class! My students are learning Korean and English. I will use this table to enhance and support their learning. I can sit at this child-sized conference table and see their little faces and give them the attention they need!
My 28 Dual Language First Graders are 6 year old students with a great challenge!
They learn to read and write in both languages. This Korean/English Dual Language program is the first of its kind on the east coast! We have English learning days and Korean learning days. Most of my students are proficient (or even masters) in English. My colleagues and I have developed a Korean language assessment program and the majority of my students are on or above level in Korean!
My Project
A child-sized conference table will put me on the same eye level as my students. The conference table will allow me to sit in the middle of the gathering, surrounded by my little learners.
I can look into a child's eyes and see how they are handling and gathering the information I am teaching.
I can reinforce and enhance a recent lesson in a small group setting. I can teach, assess, conference and guide up to 4 students together.
These 4 students will learn from each other, support each other and most importantly, see how working together is a good thing!
Your donations will bring a well needed change to the design of my classroom.
We will have our conference area where my students will be able to share, care and learn in a small and intimate environment!
More than half of students from low‑income households
