This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are hungry, not only for the food in the cafeteria, but also for the lessons I teach.
We are a self-contained special education class, which means we are a class of little special learners.
My students are the most charismatic and knowledge-loving kids I have ever seen. Despite their disabilities and the challenges they face. They continue to come to school everyday to feed their thirst for knowledge.
My Project
First thing in the morning, after we unpack, we start our morning work which are differentiated centers. I laminate their worksheets so that we can share and get plenty of uses out of them. At this point in the year, they are reading more and need new and challenging work and literacy centers. This means we need new laminating pouches, dry erase markers, phonics games, and paper to create more centers and activities and finish out the year strong.
My students all have low income families and live in public housing.
Getting school supplies in the beginning of the year was a difficult task. These students are used to hand-me-downs and donated clothing and supplies. I love seeing the look on their faces when they get new presents just for them. I would be so thankful if you could help me brighten up their day and school year.
