My Project
Social and emotional (SEL) skills are so important in kindergarten. I am so excited for this project to provide an outlet for our incoming students in a fun and engaging way.
Sammy the Golden Retriever is going to provide some fun activities for our students!
We are going to create a bin filled with ball pit balls with letters written on them. Students will have to search through the bin and find letters that correspond with their recording sheet. We will have the opportunity to differentiate with the other Sammy books in our project. These tools will allow us to create several literacy (and math) labs / centers. The students will hardly know they are learning.
In addition to our literacy bins, we are creating a sensory corner in our room. This area will be a place for students to self-soothe as needed. The sensory items included in this project will be part of this area as well as books other calming resources/materials.
