This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

We are an eager and energetic group of Kindergarteners who love to learn! We are a Title I school located in Philadelphia. Our classroom is a safe haven where we can learn and grow together. We try our best and want so much to learn and make our teacher and families proud.

Many students are English Language Learners experiencing their first school days immersed in a foreign language.

As you can imagine, this can be a difficult transition for many. We learn and grow together every day!

My Project

My students will use the CD players and computer mice during our daily Literacy center time. The CD players will allow students to listen to a variety of books on CD.

Many of the students have limited experiences being read to.

This allows each student the opportunity to enjoy sitting and listening to a story of their choosing. The computer mice will be used for our computer Literacy intervention program, Lexia Core 5. The students play reading and alphabet games on their own level. The students love to use the computer independently but often struggle with the wires being tangled up. Wireless mice will help to keep them focused on their learning, not the distraction of the wires.
