This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Being from a low-income neighborhood, a lot of my students will have a hard time being able to acquire different supplies needed for a distance learning classroom. With supplies not being able to be shared, and more independent activities being required having individual supplies will help my students safely steer through this pandemic.
Concentrating on keeping students safe and learning at a distance from peers is a primary focus for fall.
As a teacher, I want to make sure all students have the means to learn with the same materials that can be differentiated to their learning.
My Project
Learning during a pandemic is something most students have never had to experience. With schools opening for fall, teachers are looking for creative ways for students to learn while being a safe distance from their peers. Small groups are changing to individual activities.
With the help of individual literacy binders, students can feel safe to learn through differentiated activities.
Each binder has everything the student will need to be successful such as dry erase markers, manipulatives, and sheet protectors. These are also great for students to bring home with them if schools decide to close for online learning.
Being able to provide equitable supplies for my students to safely learn will be a huge advantage this fall and I think literacy binders will be a great addition.
