My students need alphabet recognition, beginning sound, rhyming and ending sound materials to help them develop fundamental literacy skills.
FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. Kara Sloat's classroom raised $616
This project is fully funded
My Students
A typical day in my classroom consists of helping students become the best they can be. In Pre-K we focus on sight recognition of letters and the sounds they make. We also work on writing, counting, shapes, and colors. Most importantly we learn social skills to become productive individuals.
I teach full day prekindergarten the a class full of 22 very active children, ready to learn.
We have a wide variety of cultures represented in our school. If my project is funded it would help children in the early, most important years of learning. I would like to give my class a jump start at reading by allowing them to do reading based activities on their own. Many of the students in my classroom do no have English spoken to them in the home and need lots of support to learn the language.
My Project
Our students would benefit from these games because of the bright colors used. Our children love to play games, they do not realize they are learning through play. Our children would use the rhyming houses and rhyming sort board to enhance their skill of rhyming. Our children love to use magnetic boards when learning to write upper and lower case letters. Learning a skill through a variety of games is the best way for our children to learn.
This project is very important and close to my heart because I feel if children are taught and expected to achieve they will.
I would like to set each of my students on a road to a lifetime love of learning.
