Help me give my students literacy materials to use during free choice center time.
FULLY FUNDED! Ms. Leggio's classroom raised $275

My Students
I am a teacher in a low-income/high-poverty school district where my students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to keep things simple and provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
I may not be able to control their home lives; however, I can certainly control their experiences during the school day.
From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom, I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.
My Project
My students absolutely love their free choice time, but I have been noticing that we can incorporate more literacy, mathematics, and science skills in every center. Teachers Pay Teachers has an abundance of materials that my students would benefit from. The gift cards would go toward reusable center materials that I could correspond with the units of study. The students would benefit from file folder games, matching games in centers, and visual word cards to enhance the writing center. The New York City Pre-K curriculum is a wonderful tool that teachers have based their store on Teachers Pay Teachers off of.
