Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Foundational skills are so important for fostering lifelong readers. These decodable readers and literacy materials will continue to enhance the print-rich classroom that I strive to create. Some materials will be used at school for centers, fluency, read alouds, self-selection. Some will also be sent home for students to practice at home with age and developmentally appropriate stories.

With your support, my students will be able to continue to build their home libraries with books they can read independently and with their families.

The best way to increase reading ability is to read more, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in reading while also building their joy of literacy. My students already have shown an astonishing interest in independent reading, and this project will only help enrich their experiences with the printed word.
