Help me give my students quality books that are fun to read, talk about topics that are interesting to them, and have characters that look like them (along with some other graphic novels).

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
It's a brand new school year and my scholars and I could not be happier to be back to in-person learning! Despite the challenges we still faces, my scholars have set their sights on reaching their goals; they've made it almost to the end of their middle school careers their aim to read more books! In order for our adventure in learning to be a success, we need a classroom library that caters to our needs.
We've got some amazing selections of classics and a smattering of picture books and NatGeo magazines, but not nearly enough books on our level - books we can engage in!
We need books - books for literature circles, for borrowing to read independently; we especially need a lot more graphic novels to support our struggling readers. Will you help us fill the empty spaces on our library shelves with books we will love to read over and over again?
My Project
My scholars are currently reading two or more grades below level and they need access to texts and storylines within their abilities so that they can build confidence and stamina.
The books in this project have been chosen because they are well known graphic novels that would be of interest to my scholars or because they are books with compelling story lines that also have characters who look like my scholars.
Scholars will be able to borrow them for independent reading in class and at home. They will be a a part of our classroom lending library and scholars will submit reading responses to express their growth in reading.
