it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
Close your eyes and listen. Really listen to the sounds happening in a classroom. Scholars spend up to 6-10 hours in a classroom every day. So many sounds pass between them, in most cases, these sounds can become incredibly distracting. All Scholars have the right to listen. They have the right to learn. And they have the right to be heard. Creating a listening center that is used with it's highest potential, will allow for my Scholars to experience all of this and more. And my Scholars deserve the world, they just need our help to give them the opportunity to experience what they so rightly deserve.
My Project
A strong listening center is much needed in all elementary school classrooms. The stacks of CD's and cassettes on a day to day for engagement, enrichment in both love for learning and academic standards needs a dedicated space in my classroom.
The mobile listening center and the CD/Cassette player will allow me to provide music for Scholars when they need to focus, mindfulness for Scholars when they need to calm down, enriching and engaging academic materials when they need the extra push towards excellence, and another opportunity of high quality learning.
The timers will support procedures around this listening center and classroom management overall.
