Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Throughout this year, many students have vocalized that they concentrate better when they can listen to music while they are working. Listening to music helps students tune out nearby distractions and tune into their learning. For many students, listening to music is also calming and helps to de-escalate stressful situations.
Headphones can also help level the playing field for students who may struggle with traditional methods of learning due to their disability.
For students with dyslexia, listening to recorded texts or audiobooks allows them to focus on comprehending the text rather than exerting all of their energy in deciphering the text. Many students also enjoy watching videos of topics learned during class time to reinforce their understanding of the subject. Along with headphones, this tablet will allow us to play background music from the classroom speakers during independent work time!
Overall, not only do students enjoy listening to music while they work, but headphones can also provide a sense of independence and autonomy for students with disabilities, which is incredibly empowering. Your generous donation can make a meaningful difference in the lives of these students, and we are grateful for your support. We also need wipes.
