Listening to Learn!

My students need a listening center so they can listen and read along and let their imaginations soar!

My Students

My preschool children light up every morning with their smiles, giggles, and enthusiasm for learning and life! This is their first experience with school and I am charged with not only helping them develop the skills they will need for kindergarten and beyond, but also nurturing a love of learning in general. Early literacy skills are the foundation for successful years to come. I love reading and I want every child in my class to love it too. Adding this listening center will help with this goal.

My Project

This listening center will allow my students additional opportunities to read independently. They will better understand print and following along in a book, while being introduced to new vocabulary. This center will enhance their critical listening skills and also model fluent and interpretive reading. The listening center that I want for my classroom comes with eight sets of headphones so several students can listen and read together.

I know my students' faces will exhibit excitement and pleasure as they see how words on the page come alive.

This will help encourage their love for literature. Please help make this listening center a reality!
