Listening To Learn

My students need a wonderful listening center with books on tape to go along with it.

FULLY FUNDED! Mrs. S.'s classroom raised $390

This project is fully funded

First graders learning to read will be overjoyed to listen to their favorite books on tape. We are in a high-risk urban charter school that needs help with literacy.

Our students do not currently have a listening center. Studies show that students should read and be read to but my students' parents often cannot find the time to read with them. I do the best I can with the time in the classroom to read a book a day and read with each student at least once a week.

With this fantastic center my students will be thrilled to read along with the tapes! They will have the benefit of reading and having someone read to them. This will not take the place of time that I spend with them reading, but it will only help to enhance that time together.

You will make it possible for my students to be empowered to read! This center would not be possible without a generous donation and my class will undoubtedly appreciate the gift.
