My students need a listening center so they can read along in Spanish and English, individually or in small groups.
I have 25 first graders who love to read in English and Spanish.
In our school, 57% of the students receive free or reduced price meals. My students come from very diverse backgrounds. They love learning about the world around them and enjoy participating in literacy activities.
My Project
My students need a listening center.. While some of my students are fluent in two languages, others are in the process of learning one for the first time. Listening to books is a great way to model fluent reading and is especially helpful to second language learners.
While they are listening to stories, the students can read at the same time. Having audio to go along with the pictures supports the comprehension for second language learners.
