My students love reading. They enjoy when I read to them, reading by themselves, and reading with a friend. They get to explore the world around them, be entertained, and learn about their interests when they are engaged in a good book. One way we like to have our students engage in reading is with our listening station.
My students are energetic, enthusiastic, and curious readers who love to engage in a variety of books!

My Project
The materials in this project will make a huge difference on my students and their experiences with books. One of my centers during our literacy block is listening to stories. Right now, I have students sharing an iPad to listen to a story on a book app. However, I want them to be able to turn pages of an actual book. I believe that would be more effective for my students and would allow them to gain more from the experience.
Listening to others read stories helps develop fluency, comprehension, concepts of print, listening skills, and it allows them to engage in books!
