My Project
My students are learning French and Spanish, and they are always excited to hear music and see videos from real-life speakers. Having a set of classroom headphones will enable students to hear different voices and accents, thus increasing their ability to comprehend and use the language. I will also be able to provide more differentiation by students individually choosing what to listen to. This will help students who need to change the rate of speech or who need to repeat certain passages.
In my World Cultures classes, students with significant support needs and lower reading abilities can use headphones with the text-to-speech option, thus beginning to level the playing field and allow for greater success for all.
I will also be able to provide multiple options of videos of people who live in other places, so students can choose what to learn about.
