This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every time the children enter the school library, I want them to be excited to learn about all the new people, places, lessons, and journeys they will be able to encounter during their library time!

Our high-poverty school is home to almost 500 eager learners in grades Pre-K through 5th grade.

Our students come from diverse backgrounds. Some of our families face a daily struggle just to provide for their family's basic needs and are unable to provide them with learning supplies and materials that many of us take for granted. I am very excited to have the opportunity to bring many positive library experiences to our school.

My Project

My youngest students need durable headphones for online and face to face learning, and I need a headset and microphone to conduct read alouds. As the school librarian, I love reading books to my students, but reading with a facemask muffles my voice and makes it difficult for my students to hear me. A headset and microphone will help project my voice so students can hear me better.

Headphones for my students are necessary for them to be able to listen and focus.

New headphones will make a difference by reducing noise and other distractions in their learning environment. Help my students hear great stories.
