This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
What do I love about my students? I love watching them learn! I love seeing them read something or listen to something and making a connection to the world around them.
The majority of my student population comes from low income families with little to no background knowledge, and many of them are learning English for the first time and might just be the only English speaker in their home.
Much of the information they acquire comes from the experiences that they are exposed to in class.
Just like the information they learn comes from school, so do their technology and learning materials. These students rely heavily on teachers and staff to give them what they need both physically and emotionally. It is for these reasons that it brings me so much joy to see the spark light up in their eyes when they see or experience something more. It is my job to show them a wonderful world just waiting for them to explore.
My Project
After the pandemic, technology became a massive part of our lives. We have become very dependent on the use of technology on both the learning and teaching sides. It has become essential that students have everything they need to maximize this new learning style to its fullest.
The pandemic has shown us, educators, how much is available for our students online.
Our campus has been impressive in providing each student with their device. What we are missing is good headphones.
These headphone will also help our students who have fallen behind in reading skills catch up to where they need to be by really allowing them to immerse themselves in their lessons.
