This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are wonderful learners. They come from diverse backgrounds from all over the Las Vegas valley. They enjoy coming to school to experience a variety of educational experiences. Many of my students come from homes with very small monthly incomes and have a hard time buying the supplies they need to be a successful 21st century learner. Students are hard workers and but in time to get better at learning skills in math and reading. They hope that they can become doctors, bakers, police officers, engineers and other professionals.

My Project

Students in my class come from homes that speak languages other than English and need videos and sound to help them learn. Learning is now tailored to each student when they can focus with headphones and the computer. Students will see gains in reading when they are listening to the digital book that is just right for them. During the day they have opportunities to listen to stories, but some do not have headphones that fit or work. It is my hope to supply every child in my class with a workable pair of durable headphones that fit and can be used year after year.
