This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Students
My students are just beginning their lifelong learning adventure when they enter my classroom. Some have experienced a PreK setting and some have not. These students, at 5 and 6 years old, are learning the skills needed to become successful in their future. About a third of our school qualifies for free or reduced-price lunch. The skills they learn in my classroom will build the foundation they need to succeed in various parts of their lives. Self-regulation and social learning are a large part of the early childhood classroom and an area I focus on. These students are bright, inquisitive, caring, and growing every day.
My Project
Screen time has become popular amongst children. During our school day my students need times when they can listen to a story without a screen. These students are not yet reading and are missing out on the opportunity to visualize what they're hearing in their minds.
This device will allow 3 or 4 students to hear an audio book of their preference during center time.
It is a child friendly device that they can work and I would love to give them the learning experience of audiobooks without seeing pictures.
Giving my student's this device and materials would be extremely beneficial in their learning adventure. I can't wait to see the growth in imaginations given this opportunity
