My Students

Do you remember listening to a story on tape? Well, how about listening to someone else tell a story?

Our second grade class is made up of students of all levels in all academic areas.

We are such great listeners and some of us are auditory learners. Most of our students are also on a free lunch program at school and don't have many opportunities to work with technology at our own pace and level.

My Project

These technology devices will be used to differentiate instruction in our classroom. Students of all levels will use the technology to either pre-teach a story, vocabulary, or practice their fluency to achieve mastery and focus on comprehension. The listening centers will be used by students during their universal access small group time daily. They will be able to listen to stories that are at their reading level, thus lowering their affective filter. They will also get the opportunity to practice reading with proper intonation and fluency.

This project will make a big difference in students' learning.

It will assist them in helping them meet their individual needs. Students will become better readers as they learn how fun reading can be!
