This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Please help replace our broken, antiquated listening center that I pieced together with a flimsy CD player and random earphones that I scrounged up from around the school!

I teach in an inner-city, public school with students from low to no income families.

My students have not been exposed to much literature before school age and must be surrounded with rich language within my classroom. They are positive, enthusiastic learners who are loving school!

My Project

This listening center will allow my students to hear their stories read fluently and increase their comprehension of the stories we read together. They need to read and listen to the stories as a whole, in small group, and on CD to fully grasp the material. It is vital to their reading fluency and comprehension.

This project would help my students out tremendously!

They deserve to have high quality materials that other schools and classrooms have to improve their reading skills and love of literature!
