Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I teach in a Title I school. However, my school rarely provides funds for teachers, and we never receive any funds from the PTO. I teach second grade bilingual students. All my students are low income. My students do not receive any additional help from home. I have to provide them with in-class interventions like small groups or class centers. I am aware of the importance that the listening center has on the students'learning. However, my school provides primary classes with listening equipment such as a recorder and ear phones, but it does not provide audio books or anything else that my students may use on the listening center. My reading specialist was kind enough to let me borrow two audio books, and that's what my students have to use throughout the school year. My students ask me to give them new audio books. However, sadly I have to tell them that's all that I have. Therefore, please I am asking for books with tapes and other listening material that my students can use in the listening center. I know that with new listening materials my students will love to go to the listening center and improve in their reading decoding and fluency in English and Spanish.
