My Students

My students are energetic, bright, and excited to be at school and learning. They are part of an all day Kindergarten Program at Draper Elementary. Part of that includes extending the learning and includes an hour of Oral Language Block. This hour helps them expand their language skill by using them interacting with their peers. My classroom would greatly benefit from a sensory table and more creative play items for my oral language block time. Having quality items improves engagement, and motivation to use their new vocabulary words. We would just love if our project was funded!

My Project

By funding my project for books for the listening center it would make my students so excited to come to school everyday. A lot of younger students are good hands on learners so having a listening center will help them integrate what they are learning to the different parts of the brain. They will also have the opportunity to listen to the stories at the listening center enhancing their exposure to text which can greatly impact their ability to read. It will also make Kindergarten and fun and exciting place to be!
