This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My school has a large ENL population and high needs for differentiation and authentic learning experiences. Many of the students live in shelters,receive free breakfast and lunch, have difficult family lives, and have special needs. Despite these challenges, my students walk into school with a big smile on their face, ready for a new day of learning and growing. They enter the classroom with such joy, excited to see their friends and anxious for the day to begin.

My students love to learn, and I want to make sure they have the materials and resources to be successful students.

Many of them lack access to technology in the home which motivates me to provide these tools for my students even more. They are funny, dedicated, brilliant, kind, inquiring minds who rise to any academic challenge presented to them.

My Project

We are in need of audio books so we can fully enjoy our classroom listening center.I read to my students multiple times per day but I would like to provide additional time where they can hear books read.

The books and CDs will help my students develop their imagination through literature and develop their love for books.

I have a cd play and earphones, but no books for them to listen to. During reading centers, students will listen to books on cd in small groups or individually. I am hoping to have a variety of books so we can have a new book available in the center every week (with library available to reread favorites). Your help will enable young people to develop their imagination through literature and develop their love for books.
