Help me give my students opportunities to listen and engage with stories in a whole new way. By creating a listening center in my classroom, students will build independence, listening skills and reading confidence!
Pre-Kindergarten is the perfect place to build a solid foundation for a love of learning! I want to create a space in my room that provides students the freedom to choose the books they want to listen to and feel like they are actually reading the books themselves. By providing soft and comfortable seating, this center could also be used to create a calm and relaxing space for students that might need a moment.
By creating this space in my classroom, students for years to come will get this experience of listening and reading.
This area will also provide opportunities for my ESOL/ELL students to hear books in their native language and then share these books with their fellow classmates!
