Listening Center for Beginning Readers

Help me give my students a listening center to help build the love of reading and story telling!

My Project

Kindergarteners love having stories read to them. If I could, I would read to my students all day long! Unfortunately, that is an impossible task. But, having a listening center will allow the students to read more books on their own. Help me give my class a new listening center to replace our broken one.

Having a listening center will allow my students to explore a wide variety of books independently.

Being able to listen to a story helps build comprehension skills, vocabulary, as well as build fluency and expression. Being able to track the words while listening to the narrator, helps build concept of print, letter and sight word recognition. The kids miss our listening center station.
