Listening Center Books And Geometric Shapes for All!
My students need 2 sets of new listening center books to use during center time and geometric shapes for our geometry math unit.

My Students
Do you remember listening to your favorite story being read to you? Do you remember learning about 2D and 3D shapes in school? These are both experiences I want my students to have with the following resources.
Students at our school come from low-income families who face challenges of their own everyday.
Our school has become a 'safe haven' for the students who attend by teaching character education, a strong curriculum, and most importantly providing a welcoming and nurturing environment.
Although our school is a Title I school and 95% of our students receive free or reduced price lunch, we are 80% proficient in reading and math. We are a high performing school even though our resources are limited. I would like to provide my students with more technology in the classroom, which they can use at center time or small group. I know my students will be very grateful for the new listening center books and shapes once we get them, as will I.
My Project
With the multiple copies of listening center books and CDs, my students will each be able to read a copy of the book as they listen to it. Currently I have 3 students sharing a book at a time at the listening center, because resources and funds are limited. This set includes 4 copies of each book with the matching CD. We also need geometric 3-Dimensional shapes to use for our geometry unit. It's hard to show students 3D shapes when you don't physically have them, and have to draw them. My students will be able to touch and feel the 3D shapes and touch and feel the vertices and edges.
This project is so very important to us because we need these resources to teach our curriculum.
With your help, my students will be able to read their own book at the listening center while listening to the recording on the CD. They will also be able to touch and feel their geometric shapes and get a better sense of what 3 Dimensional actually means.
