My students need sandtimers, a pocket chart, and word spacers for independent work in the listening center.

My Students
The following projects will be used for the 2016-2017 school year. My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of the families I work with have no money to purchase school supplies for their children, so we try to provide as much material as possible for the classroom.
I have many families that are new to the country and speak little English or no English at all.
For some students who are new to the country, they have had no formal schooling.
My students are very bright and want to learn. My goal is to expose the students to as many hands on and engaging learning opportunities as possible!
My Project
One of our learning centers throughout the day is the listening center. This is the center that my students enjoy most. They are able to listen to stories and respond to the stories in writing.
My students have diverse needs.
They are in need of a pocket chart to organize work for each of the levelled groups. Students can find their groups' work for the day in their assigned pocket on the chart. This allows for differentiating materials and making them easily accessible for independent learning.
Since we receive very limited school supplies, my students also need composition notebooks to record their responses after listening to stories.
Sandtimers will be used for students to self monitor time spent at this center and for building fluency when their assigned work is completed.
These center materials will allow for an area in which students can be self sufficient and engaged. This also allows for the teacher to have more small group instruction time uninterrupted.
