My Students

I love that I get to work with a class full of super special kindergarten students! My classroom is part of a Title I school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.

My students will build a strong foundation in early literacy and math skills through individual practice targeted to their specific needs.

My students are active, full of energy, and curious about the world around them. They learn best when they are provided instruction through a variety of teaching strategies: direct instruction, small group instruction, and independent practice. I can introduce a new concept in a whole group lesson, follow it up with small group instruction to ensure students are mastering the concept, and then provide additional practice with individual practice assignments on their iPads.

My Project

If you walked into my classroom during our workshop time for literacy or math, you would find a small group of students working with me, another group of students working in centers, and a third group of students involved in personalized learning on their iPads. The students on iPads might be listening to stories on Epic, playing a game to practice rhyming words with Boom Cards, or sharpening their math skills by completing an assigned lesson in Dreambox.

My classroom is a busy place, always active and rarely quiet, as we go about the business of teaching and learning.

My students who are working independently on their iPads need new headphones so that they can listen and concentrate on their work. This will also help students who are working in centers or with me to pay more attention to their tasks or to me because they will not be distracted by the noises coming from the iPads. These headphones will reduce the noise level in my classroom and help everyone stay more focused on their work.
