My Students

All of my students have difficulty with some aspect of learning in their classroom. I see students ranging from Pre-K through sixth grade. My students are the children that have difficulty communicating, understanding and/or listening in school and at home. Just think how frustrating this could be for the children who want to share what they did or learned at school and the parents who want to listen.

What I love about my job is that I have the opportunity to show my students how their strengths can help them improve the areas they struggle with.

Although each child learns differently, we know that movement, engagement, focus and listening are the important keys to learning in school. I feel blessed every day to be part of each student's journey towards improving their communication skills with their teacher, peers, and family.

My Project

I am big fan of finding activities, games, sensory strategies that will help my students achieve success in a safe and fun environment. The Talking Pen and the Main Idea cards will help the older students as they are reading longer stories in class. Providing students with a variety of options to respond to questions (Buzzers) is more motivating. The card sets will are also a visual way to work on vocabulary, stories and listening skills.

Being able to focus in class is very important, so the resistance bands on the chairs will keep students listening and engaged in the language activities using all of the card sets.
