This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Your donation will allow us to create a listening center for our classroom. Providing students with an accessible listening center that students can approach independently will allow them to feel "at home" and form a sense of belonging to our classroom.
The goal of our project is to promote students' interest in books and develop early literacy skills in an interactive and, most importantly, fun practice.
This project will provide my students with a listening center that will include a portable CD player (with multipurpose uses), familiar read-along books, and headphones. The read-along books will be introduced to the students during our storytime. It will also be modeled on how to use the CD player and headphones and how to properly care for our new listening resources. The CD player, along with the other listening resources, will then be incorporated into the listening center for students to use during choice time.
Your donation will be greatly appreciated as our tiniest learners will cherish these literacy skills/moments forever! I can already visualize their excitement and their big smiles when exploring this center.
