Listen To Reading

My students need books, books on CD and mp3 players so that they can listen to exciting stories and follow along with the print copy.

My Students

My students want to read the same books as their peers, but most are not reading at a high enough level to do so. Books on CD will allow them to "read" the same books as their classmates. This will help increase their reading confidence and expose them to more complex vocabulary.

My students are all learning English as a second (or third) language.

Some were born in the US, others abroad. Many of their families are low income. Their parents want the best for their children. Unfortunately many are not able to help their children when they are reading a new book.

My Project

The mp3 players, books, and books on CD will provide my students with the support they need to access higher level books then they can read on their own. The audio books are high interest books that my students see their classmates reading, but are unable to read on their own. Listening to these books, and following along with a printed copy will hep increase my students reading comprehension.

These CD's, books, and mp3 players will help keep my students excited about reading.

I can not wait to see the excitement on their faces when they discover a new book that was previously out of their reach. Please help them on the road to academic success and a lifetime love of reading.
