My Students
A young, beginner teacher: learning more in my classroom every day than maybe I teach. Exaggerating, but still...Straight out of college and brutally kicked by the corporate world I came bustling back to my true dream: teaching. Here I am, loving every day a little bit more than the last.
My students are my coffee in the morning and my storybook at night.
They are full of energy, creativity, imagination, humor, and on a good day sass! My friends love to read, write, and present what they find and know. Technology is their second-nature, most of the time they are better at it than me.
My classroom is also extremely diverse and versed in culture, love, friendship, and honesty.
My Project
The iPods will be used in our Daily 5 reading rotation block. Based on reading groups 2 friends will use a headphone splitter to listen to recorded books. This performance may be by a Scholastic book club, me, or even a fellow classmate.
I will let my kids record their favorite book every month based on reading levels.
My classroom is a beginner classroom.
I am starting from scratch when it comes to creating my vision of my "perfect classroom". A listen to reading center is just the very beginning. My goal is to make reading fun and tackle it using many different strategies!
