My Students

Have you ever had a bad morning? Well some of my students feel like they are Alexander and terrible horrible no good very bad day every day. After the Hurricane Harvey our school got a good bit of new students. A lot of theses students really went through the storm and always seem to wake up on the wrong side of the bed. Or in some of my students case wrong side of the couch or sleeping bag.

My Kindergarten through fourth grade students reside in Houston Texas and they're Houston Strong and ready to learn .

My schools kiddos all get free breakfast and 90% of them are eligible for free lunch. No matter what they face at home my students try their best to be ready to learn as soon as they hit the school doors.

My Project

What better way to start the day than by playing a game? Most of my kiddos have had a rough start to their school year. After Hurricane Harvey my school got a good bit of displaced kiddos. These kiddos not only are going through things in their home life they also bring some of this stress to school.

In order for my kiddos to get some stress off of their back and talk with their comfort group my kiddos need board games to keep their morning talk time, computer and game rotations running smoothly.

Not only will those kiddos that were displaced during the hurricane get to enjoy this morning fun, every week any kids that want to talk will have a chance to join the group. These kiddos will start the morning off eating breakfast and then rolling into a talk, computer or game group every ten minutes. This is just the right amount of time my kiddos need to relax, chill out and get their minds off of the stressors of life before diving into learning. Little do they know this little thirty minutes of fun is three lessons in one.
