My Project

I teach 24 amazing fourth graders at a Title I school. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and many face challenges outside of school. In our classroom, we use technology daily for reading support, intervention programs, and assessments. For many of my students, tools like online audiobooks and text-to-speech are essential for comprehension and independence.

Unfortunately, not every student has access to their own headphones.

Without them, students may struggle to hear instructions, feel distracted, or miss out on important learning opportunities.

With a classroom set of headphones, every student will be able to:

Access online books and learning platforms

Use text-to-speech and audio supports during assessments

Work independently without distractions

Feel confident and included in digital learning

This project will help ensure that all students — regardless of their circumstances — have equal access to the tools they need to succeed.
