I have an adorable class of 25 first grade students. My friendly first graders love to share what they know and quickly engage in concepts that they are learning. They love learning so much that they ask for to send home hands-on projects and activities that they can do on the weekends.
Some of our favorite activities happen during centers.
In centers, the students are able to use manipulatives to deepen their understanding of concepts I am teaching them, and discover for themselves in real ways how the world around them works.
My Project
One of the most popular centers is always listening center. However, we currently can only have one student at a time in our listening center.
The beautiful wooden caddy that holds books, CD's, and comes with the multi-jack and school appropriate headphones will be a perfect addition to make our favorite center accessible to more students.
First graders love being read to, and the ability to choose their book and listen with their friends will be one of their favorite experiences of each day.
As their teacher, I am excited for any center that provides easy and tidy storage. 6-year olds have to taught to pick up after themselves, and the straightforward organization helps teach them that everything has a place.
